Software Developer - Orlando, FL

 

OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:

 

Provide software development customer support service (CSS) support to NAVAIR Training Systems Division, Orlando, Florida.

 

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  • Develop software using high order languages that is efficient, readable, and well documented
  • Solve problems that arise during the development or modification of software for simulation systems
  • Analyze requirements and prepare a software design approach for proposed training system(s) 
  • Review software design and conduct code reviews
  • Monitor and adhere to software configuration management practices
  • Identify problems encountered in software development and provide recommendations as to how to resolve these problems

 

REQUISITE SKILLS:

  • Must have experience with C++ object oriented design methodologies and practices

  • Must have experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and related products

  • Must have experience with CORBA. Knowledge and experience with the Tao implementation and tools preferred.

  • Must have experience with simulating military systems. Experience with navigation systems is a plus.

  • Must have knowledge of DoD High Level Architecture and Federation Object Models

  • Must possess or be able to acquire a Government SECRET security clearance

  • Experience with configuration management tools preferred

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

EXPERIENCE

At least three (3) years of practical experience in software development associated with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains

EDUCATION

B.S. in electronics or computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent
