OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
Oversees and coordinates program activities designed to ensure effective logistics support of training systems/devices. Ensures materials, labor, equipment, supplies, and other requirements are delivered in good order at an optimum time and cost. Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes, and other data to plan and develop logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life-cycle of product. Assist in the development and preparation of handbooks, bulletins, and information systems to provide and supply logistic support. May perform special research or technical studies critical to Logistic support functions.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Analyze and compile numerical or statistical data through Technical and/or Failure Analysis.
- Conduct Physical Configuration Audits (PCA) or Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) through the use Technical Diagrams and Schematics.
- Use database and spreadsheet software in conjunction with information from individuals to analyze operational or management reports and records.
- Aid the Assistant Program Manager Logistics (APML) in the preparation of a Contractor Data Requirements List (CDRL), Contractor Statement of Work (SOW), and Data Item Description (DID).
- Accomplish additional tasks as assigned.
REQUISITE SKILLS:
- Knowledge, skill, and experience in the application of logistics support management principles, concepts, and methodology in a variety of difficult and complex logistic projects.
- Able to assist or develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and a Configuration Management Plan (CMP).
- Mastery of theory, concepts, principles, practices, and all aspects of logistics elements and the management of those elements.
- Knowledgeable in the development of an Acquisition Logistics Support Plan (ALSP) and a Logistics Requirement Funding Summary (LRFS) to assist with acquisition policy and procedures, and budget formulation.
- Have sufficient knowledge to execute policies and procedures sufficient to acquire and manage the logistic program for assigned training systems.
- USMC or US Navy ILSM program experience required.
- Must possess or be able to acquire a Government Secret Security Clearance.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Experience: Minimum four (4) years experience as a logistics manager, with two (2) of these years as a logistics manager for USMC or US Navy programs. Two (2) years of relevant expertise can be substituted for one (1) year of college experience.
Education: BA or BS degree from an accredited program required.
