OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
Provide systems engineering support of training development for the Littoral Combat Ship. This position is located at NAVAIR Training Systems Division in Orlando, Florida.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Development of procurement packages, along with associated documents and tasks
- Development of SOW, Specification and CDRLs
- Provide technical management and oversight of a contract
REQUISITE SKILLS:
- Ability to formulate a structured, disciplined, and documented technical effort to design and develop systems, products and processes
- Ability to translate needed operational capabilities into an integrated system design through concurrent consideration of all lifecycle needs
- Acquisition experience, preferably supporting Training and/or Training Systems Acquisition
- Ability to clearly document operational and technical requirement
- Basic but broad knowledge of current and future Navy equipment, systems, manpower, training, and associated tactics.
- Knowledge of Navy ship systems, and in particular, the LCS platforms. Specific combat systems knowledge and/or engineering system knowledge pertaining to the LCS ships would be highly beneficial.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education - B.S. in electronics or computer engineering, or equivalent
Specific Experience – Required - At least five (5) years of practical experience in systems engineering associated with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains
Desired - At least three (3) years of acquisition experience, with two (2) years directly supporting Training and/or Training Systems Acquisition.
Must have a broad knowledge of support engineering functions such as reliability, maintainability, EMI, logistics, program funding, statistics, facilities, cost estimating, risk analysis/assessment, and human factors.
Must be knowledgeable of a wide range of non-engineering, non-scientific information in the form of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Military Standards, DoD/DoN/NAVAIR policies, directives, and instructions and must be able to determine the applicability of these documents to assignments.
