Configuration Manager – Orlando, FL
OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
Provide support in applying engineering and analytical disciplines to identify, document and verify the functional, performance and physical characteristics of systems, to control changes and non-conformance and to track actual configurations of systems and platforms.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Provide support in developing and maintaining software and technical data Configuration Management (CM) policies and procedures, and perform CM planning for software, hardware and technical data.
- Maintain CM plans and databases.
- Implement CM procedures for identification, evaluation, documentation and control of system modifications
- Utilize software tools to implement automated/electronic change management, configuration control and archive procedures for system and other configuration items
- Develop and maintain software build procedures. This includes all procedures required to edit, compile, assemble, build and link the software undergoing development or modification
- Support software releases by preparing cold start software kit and the Computer Software Product End Items
REQUISITE SKILLS:
- Knowledge of software Configuration Management processes and tools
- Prior experience with the software development life cycle
- Hands-on experience with tools such as ClearCase, Subversion, CVS
- Experience with CM tools integrating with Windows and Linux environments
- Knowledge and experience with CMMI and ISO 9001
- Experience creating Configuration Management Plans for software environments
- Experience managing issue/bug tracking systems such as bugzilla, JIRA, and ClearQuest
- Experience with creating scripts for automation within the CM tool
- Experience with build management, branching, tagging, issue resolution, delivery management, build management
- Knowledge of the responsibilities of a Configuration Management Board
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance procedures and processes
- Capable of enforcing processes and procedures
- Experience with migrating from one CM system to another
- Must possess or be able to acquire a Government SECRET security clearance
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
EXPERIENCE -
- Required – At least five (5) years of practical experience in configuration management.
- Experienced developing programming and scripting languages to integrate with configuration management tools.
- Familiar with software development and diagnostic tools.
- Must be able to continually keep at the leading edge of changing or emerging developments and techniques within the above fields.
- Formal training in M&S techniques desired but not required.
- Must be knowledgeable of a wide range of non‑engineering, non‑scientific information in the form of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Military Standards, DoD/DoN/NAVAIR policies, directives, and instructions and must be able to determine the applicability of these documents to assignments.
- Knowledge of and experience in software engineering principles and development, especially in complex systems design. Experience and education directly related to scientific programming applications, including math model development, is necessary to support the research of emerging technologies.
EDUCATION – B.S. in electronics or computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
