NSSMS Technician Trainer – Norfolk, VA
OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
This position will support intermediate and advanced Air and Missile Defense Embedded Training Systems, Tactics, Techniques and Procedures Development and Testing for surface combat system ships at the individual, unit and fleet level. This position is located in Norfolk, VA.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Train technicians and operators in the tactical employment of the Ships Self Defense Systems in support of Air Warfare and Surface Warfare.
- Lead technical support for the NSSM and RAM missile systems during Self Assessment Groom Training
- Instruct the RNSSMS and RAM watch positions during Individual Operator and Advanced Warfare training for SSDS platforms.
- Provide support to the CCMM in development and testing of tactics as the systems expert.
- Accomplish additional tasks as assigned.
REQUISITE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Must have NEC 1156, RNSSMS NSC and TIC qualification, and NEC 9502 or equivalent Journeyman Instructor training
- Desired: Master Training Specialist qualification or three years instructional experience, and RAM WCP qualification.
- Must possess or be able to acquire a Government SECRET security clearance.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Must have three years of shipboard SSDS experience.
